The Florida Peer Network is proud to announce that we have been awarded a $25,000 National Campaign for Mental Health Recovery grant from the SAMHSA ADS Center. This grant hopes to reduce stigma about mental illness among young adults, 18-25 years old and is based around campaign materials developed by the ADS Center.
The Network has partnered with Active Minds, an organization for mental health consumers on college campuses, to design a campaign focusing on the arts and young artists with psychiatric disabilities to communicate the experience of living with mental illness. College aged young adults are particularly vulnerable to the negative effects of stigma and are the least likely age group to seek help for mental health problems.
This website is funded in part by the Advocacy Center for Persons with Disabilities, Inc.,
through the PAIMI grant from SAMHSA.
