Recovery statement: I create art to have an outlet for my responses to the world around me. When I hold everything in, I feel overwhelmed. If you have an urge to express yourself through any form of art, whether it is visual or written, or performed, it is a gift that should be shared with the world. Artist Bio: Delores Russell is from North Western Connecticut. She left home and attended college at Simon’s Rock of Bard College at the age of 16 in Great Barrington Massachusetts. Before completing a degree, she had a mental breakdown and lived as a homeless person for several years. Today she lives in Florida with her husband and child. She is a Client Advocate at a mental health facility, has a behavioral health tech certification, and is a WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Planning) facilitator.
